3D Printer Builds (WIP)
I spend a lot of time exploring new consumer technology in filament 3D printing. There's a lot of fu, clever optimizations that improve reliability, speed, and print quality in modern machines. I'll catalog some of my findings and work here.
The Voron 0
Voron Design releases open-source schematics and sourcing guides for hobbyist 3D printers. They're robust, easy to build or customize, and have excellent manuals. Some of the fastest prints recorded were performed on Voron machines. I built mine in the summer of 2022, hoping to make a somewhat portable machine when I travel and need to make custom parts.
Flashorge Creator Pro
I bought this old machine from a friend. Before the prusa i3 and ender 3 models became popular, the flashforge creator pro was one of the cheapest, highest quality machines you could get. Now, many of its components are sorely outdated, I'm currently trying to upgrade the extruder and hotend assembly with some custom parts, which are cheap and easy to get, and much higher quality than the stock components. The hardest part has been designing and printing custom mounts and interfaces for them.
